FAQs
Water
How much water will I use?
An average 14,000 litre water tank will last a family of four between 4 and 6 weeks. Water usage will increase with heated pools, garden and lawn irrigation, teenagers and increased summer usage.
Can you fill pools or dams?
Yes we regularly fill dams and pools of all sizes.
Can you do dust suppression on a dirt road or wash off my driveway?
Yes the trucks are installed with equipment for spraying water so that we can complete dust suppression works on construction sites, horse arenas and domestic properties.
How much notice should I give you when I need more water?
This can vary depending on the tank size but we suggest ordering when you have roughly a quarter of your water remaining. Letting a tank run empty forces debris into pump filters and can cause issues re-priming pumps when the tank is refilled. During summer there can be a waiting list for delivery so get in early!
Do you transport salt water or rain water?
No our trucks only transport food grade potable drinking water.
Do you clean tanks?
We do not clean tanks but can recommend local tank cleaners that we work with regularly who do an excellent job.
Sensors
How do the tank sensors work?
A sensor installed on your tank sends data through the mobile network. Foreshore Water will look at this data daily and when your tanks get low, we will refill the tanks.
When will you fill my water tank?
We will fill your tanks as required to prevent run outs.
Can I take the sensor to my new house when I move?
Yes we will move and recalibrate the sensor for you.
Can you remove the sensor if I don’t want it any more?
Yes if you do not wish to continue with the service we will remove the sensor for you.
Can I see the sensor data too?
The data display is only sent to Foreshore Water but we can add you on the alert chain so that you get text or email notifications when your tank hits specified levels.
